Jakarta BPBD: Inundation in Three Neighborhoods and Five Streets Looks Receding

The Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) has noted that inundation is gradually receding in three neighborhoods and five streets in Jakarta, Thursday (3/2) morning.

In an emergency, call 112 immediately

Jakarta BPBD Executing Head, Isnawa Adji said rain with moderate to heavy intensity that flushed parts of Jakarta resulted in several areas being inundated again which has gradually receded.

"Since 6 AM, inundation in three neighborhoods and on five streets is already looking down gradually," he expressed.

Jakarta BPBD: Inundation in 108 neighborhoods Have Receded

He explained the inundation that had receded was located in one neighborhood in Pondok Kopi Urban Village and the rest in Kampung Melayu.

As for five streets that see the water recede are Jalan Tanjung Duren Raya, Grogol Petamburan, Jalan Menceng Raya, Kalideres, Jalan Gaya Motor I, Jalan Agung Karya IV, Tanjung Priok Sub-district, and Jalan Bekasi Raya in front of the Cakung Transjakarta Bus Stop, Cilincing, Cakung Sub-district.

He added the Jakarta BPBD had sent personnel to monitor inundation in each area and coordinated with the Jakarta Water Resources (SDA) Agency, Bina Marga Agency, and Fire and Rescue Agency (Gulkarmat) to suck up inundation and ensure the storm drains are functioning properly together with the local urban village and sub-district heads.

"We call on the public to remain vigilant to potential inundation. In an emergency, call 112 immediately. This is free and operates 24 hours non-stop," he stated.
